This allows you to record instruments such as drums and electric guitar cabinets up close without worrying about clipping or damage to the P120s diaphragm. The on board filter is also excellent for reducing low end rumble at source.       For the price i dont really think you can get better I compared this to my rode nt2a and there are only minor differences... if youre going after a cheap affordable microphone just to do the job go for this you cant really go wrong. an advantage you get with this AKG is that you can roll off low end.
